CSC Invitational Bicycle Race

By spokesman | June 3, 2008

The 11th annual CSC Invitational Bicycle Race was held in Arlington, VA on June 1, 2008.

It was beautiful day for the race and I have included some clips of the action in the above video.

I was surprised that neither the Washington Post nor the Washington Times covered the race.  The Post published an article on doping on the Wednesday before the race and mentioned the upcoming race.  However on the day after the race there was no mention of it in the paper.  The Washington Times was a sponsor of the race and they didn’t even mention it in the paper the next day.  It was a strange move by both papers.  Both papers obviously knew about the race and it was a newsworthy event both from a sports perspective and from a local perspective.  Several thousand people lined the streets to see the race.  I realize that cycling is not the most popular sport, but the total lack of coverage is ridiculous.
