The Carcass Of An Abandoned Bike
By spokesman | March 12, 2009

An abandoned bicycle will slowly disappear one piece at a time as bike-part vultures harvest parts. The remains are the urban equivalent of a skeleton in the desert. The wheel in the picture above has been locked up outside of a Kinkos near my house for several years. The rest of the bicycle is long gone.
There is a dormant website featuring photos of the abandoned bicycles of New York City. It has some very good pictures. Be sure to read the captions for the photos on the site.
