The Giro D’Italia 2010 and The Tour Of California
By spokesman | May 8, 2010

Last year, the Tour Of California was held in February. Since it didn’t conflict with the traditional European calendar, it attracted many of the top professional cyclists. However the weather was very bad. The organizers decided to move the tour to the spring to get better weather. However it now conflicts with the Giro D’Italia. The 2010 Tour Of California runs from May 16 through May 23. It will be broadcast on the Versus cable channel. The Giro D’Italia will run from May 8 through May 30. It will be broadcast on Universal Sports.
The 2009 schedule allowed Lance Armstrong to ride both races. This year he will ride the Tour Of California and help Levi Leipheimer win again. Last year’s Tour of California also had some interesting moments that made fodder for some humorous posts - Lance’s time trial bike was stolen and one stage include a crossing of the Golden Gate Bridge with amateurs riding with the peloton for a fee.
